Students prepared for the future

International baccaulaureate

Our methodology

The goal of the international baccalaureate is to train young people who are caring, informed and eager for knowledge, capable of contributing to creating a better and more peaceful world, within the framework of mutual understanding and intercultural respect.

We have been an IB World School since 2016 and we belong to a network of over 4,000 schools. Since year one, our results have been above the international average, always achieving a 100% pass rate. In 2020, the average score was 34.41 out of 45 points, which is equivalent to 8.48 in the university entrance ranking. Teachers continue their training to maintain the necessary qualifications to teach theIB Diploma and we have already received visits from other schoolswho wish to learn and implement the IB.

We offer the Diploma Program (DP), a two-year pre-university course of the International Baccalaureate Organizationthat provides access to Universities all over the world. It is recommended for highly motivated students between the ages of 16 and 18. It consists on a curriculum organized aroundsix disciplines belonging to six areas of knowledge and three central compulsory components: Monograph, Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS).

At Liceo Sorolla, the Diploma Program (DP) of the International Baccalaureate (BI) is combined with the Spanish Baccalaureate. Student must course six subjects: three at the upper level(HL)and three at the intermediate level (IL). The difference between higher level and intermediate level subjects consists in the number of teaching hours and the type of exams and assignments to be carried out.
