Sustainability
Our school is committed to educate responsible and caring leaders. Climate change is the main threat of our time and the best strategy to fight it is through awareness and change of habits at an individual level. This awareness begins in schools, which must carry out awareness campaigns. We focus our activity on 3 areas:environmental education, green leadership and educational social responsibility.
Environmental Education
We want to develop a sense of responsibility and caring for the planetin all our students. Our green leaders promote recycling and reducing the use of plastics; environmental awareness, intellectual activism, decarbonizing, renewable energy, and a plant-based diets. We have been part of the Eco Schools network for 14 years and participate regularly in environmental projects at a local level through the Pozuelo de Alarcón Environmental Classroom.
Green Leadership
We collaborate with the Association for Environmental and Consumer Education. Caring for the environment is part of our philosophy. ECOEMBES carries out with us an Eco Evaluation to improve our management processes and our environmental project. In our environmental classroom we have a green area and vegetable orchard in which we plant a wide variety of vegetables, flowers, aromatic plants, and fruits.
Educational Social Responsibility
We help generate a sustainable conscience in our students. As a UNICEF Schoolwe aims to create awareness to guarantee children’s rights. We are also part of the UNESCO School Network, which coordinates 11,500 schools in 182 countries to promote international understanding, peace, intercultural dialogue, sustainable development, and quality education. Through these projects we work on Education for World Citizenship (ECM) and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) projects.
